Many people talk about efficiency improvements, but few show which measures actually have an effect.
In Region Jämtland Härjedalen, extensive work has been carried out to identify where the potential for improvement is greatest. Using a data-driven approach, in close collaboration with the business, over 90 interviews have been conducted, together with benchmarking and analysis of more than 30 possible measures. The work has resulted in 18 prioritized initiatives that clearly identify where the friction in the organization is greatest.

The initiatives include simplifying and standardizing processes and working methods (purchasing, budgeting/forecasting), digitizing time-consuming tasks (AI-supported record keeping, e-signatures), and coordinating and streamlining administrative roles, interfaces, and responsibilities between operations and administrative support resources.

Sirona contributes in several of these areas – with the aim of reducing overlap, increasing clarity, and freeing up time.

In the impact analysis, several digital initiatives rank highly, and Sirona is supporting the region in implementing five of these through project management and implementation support:

  • AI-supported journaling
  • Resource management and automated scheduling
  • Digitization of payroll services, HR, and the finance department.

In addition, Sirona contributes with cost calculations and follow-ups linked to PKS – production and capacity control.

At a time when many regions are struggling to balance their budgets, all cost components need to be examined closely. If purchasing and procurement processes are not clear and structured, there are often greater gains to be made than one might think by clarifying roles, responsibilities, and working methods when purchasing goods and services.

Sirona is therefore supporting the region with a procurement management project and in the work of developing a development plan for procurement activities.

At the same time, new requirements are being placed on warehousing for supply preparedness and on the traceability of medical devices. Together with the need to streamline operations, this is creating new drivers for development in the regions' warehousing and logistics operations. Sirona is leading the work to develop a logistics strategy for the region.
