Region Norrbotten has now, as the second region of nine in the Sussa collaboration, gone live with the new medical record system Cosmic. This marks an important step in one of the largest implementation efforts underway in IT and business development projects in Europe.
In the work of implementing Cosmic, several consultants from Sirona have been involved, including Anna and Klara, who have worked on various preparations for the introduction of the EHR system.
Sirona's work in Sussa cooperation
Anna, who has worked on the project for several years, explains:
- I have had the opportunity to work with business representatives from several different areas of care in order to adapt the system to the needs of the care. The focus has been on both configuration and working methods. Now during the implementation phase, I also work with implementation planning.
Klara, on the other hand, has contributed to the output and development of the data warehouse over the past two years.
- I have worked with requirements management and data modeling and am also responsible for Sussa's work on creating the conditions for automatic reporting to quality registers, says Klara.
What does the new health information support mean for healthcare in Sussa?
Anna believes that the new system will contribute to more coherent care with common ways of working. In addition, there are positive synergies from joint cooperation between the regions now and in the future.
Klara agrees and also highlights that the new structured medical record templates create better conditions for extracting data and statistics to be able to follow up the care.
What does the work look like going forward?
The remaining seven regions will introduce the new EHR system one by one, starting in January, and by April all nine regions will be up and running. Both Anna and Klara are excited to follow the development and see how it works in practice.
Sussa stands for "strategic development of healthcare support applications" and the initiative to collaborate started back in the 1990s. The nine regions that are now part of the Sussa collaboration are Blekinge, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Halland, Norrbotten, Sörmland, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Örebro County. Anna's and Klara's work is continuing in parallel with the introduction and is being implemented gradually.
