Background information
The healthcare sector is increasingly seen as an attractive industry for the private sector to invest in. This is especially true in the Nordics, with increased opportunities to deliver services to publicly funded healthcare.
Challenge
Sirona Health Solutions was commissioned by an investment company to develop proposals for possible investments.
Implementation
Sirona identified macro trends that are driving increased investment opportunities in the healthcare sector and among subcontractors to the healthcare sector, as well as identifying potential ancillary industries to invest in and the trends driving them. A screening of companies in the sector was conducted. The analysis also covered divisions and smaller units of companies (carve-outs). In-depth descriptions of the companies, including hypotheses on investment potential and principles, were presented. Workshops were also held with management to discuss trends in the sector and possible investments.
Outcome
As a result of Sirona's work, the investment company decided to proceed with a further evaluation of seven different companies in the Nordic healthcare sector.
