Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Christmas is almost here and I would like to take the opportunity, in between wrapping presents and cooking crackers, to look both backwards and forwards and at the same time thank you for a good cooperation.
2023 has been a year of change, with the second half of the year seeing a very different and more strained situation for the public sector than the first half of the year. Inflation and falling tax revenues have meant that it is now more important than ever to get the greatest possible benefit from every tax dollar. This is to eliminate long waiting lists for care and create more equal care. But fortunately, there are methods and tools that actually produce results. There are great opportunities to streamline and increase productivity, and we also see from several ongoing projects that there are opportunities to reduce costs, for example in administration and staff. Over the past year, we have also worked on new tools, methods and processes to manage sick leave. This can have a double effect - it reduces costs and can solve some of the skills shortage.
During the year, we at Sirona have also had the privilege of working with several regions with the aim of shortening the queues for cancer care and creating better workflows through new digitization support and new methods. The fight against cancer is very close to my heart and it is with great pride that we work with this incredibly important issue.
We are also pleased and proud of our exciting new partnerships with patient associations and pharmaceutical companies. These innovative partnerships are a major step towards more effective and equitable care.
In addition to all our customers and partners, from regions, municipalities and public authorities to patient organizations and private stakeholders, I would like to extend a particularly warm thank you to our highly competent staff and our fantastic senior experts. They are truly the best of the best.
